Albufeira sits in the middle of the Algarve coast, in one of the sunniest corners of Europe. Summer is long and utterly dry: afternoons run at 28–30 °C from late June into September, rain is close to zero for months, and a sea breeze off the water keeps the beaches comfortable when the interior of the region bakes.
The sea here warms steadily through the season and peaks at around 22–23 °C in August and September, among the warmest water on the Portuguese coast. Winters are the mild Algarve standard: sunny days around 16–17 °C, with the year's modest rainfall packed into short Atlantic episodes between November and February.

Averages for 2016–2025, based on ERA5 historical data from Open-Meteo. A rainy day is one with at least 1 mm of precipitation.
August and September, at around 22–23 °C, after the whole summer has gone into heating it. Early summer is noticeably cooler because the ocean lags about two months behind the sun.
October is often still pleasant, with the sea near 20 °C and warm afternoons. In May and June the air is summery but the water is still fresh, usually 18–19 °C.
Usually 28–30 °C at the coast, with the sea breeze taking the edge off. Heat waves can push readings higher, but the extreme values on Algarve forecasts almost always belong to the inland hills, not the beaches.
